February 20, 2022At a major event by the Arab League, namely the Arab Sustainable Development Week (ASDW), Fathy said narrated the numerous efforts of the Foundation and the Egyptian Federation for Climate Change which is to be officially inaugurated soon.
According to Fathy, the efforts included the Green Church Initiative and the Climate Pioneers Program whose adoption was recently announced by the Minister of Planning.
The event took place on February 13-15 and was also graced by the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi .
During the meeting, Ahmed Fathy, founder of YLE, shared the panel with the Egyptian Planning Minister Hala El Saeed in a session entitled “Inspirational Arab Youth Experiences in Sustainable Development.”
He used the occasion to announce the forthcoming Summer School for Climate Change to be held in Egypt next month through cooperation between the Foundation, the Pan African Climate Justice Alliance and a group of international partners.
The event will be coordinated by the Ministry of Planning.
Meanwhile, Fathy said the Youth Love Egypt Foundation has actively contributed to the strengthening the capacities of the civil society institutions in Egypt.
As a result of these efforts, there is rising awareness of sustainable development goals, climate changes issues as well as other environmental work in general.
He also hailed the Minister of Planning for continuous support in these efforts.
The YLE Foundation is particularly pleased to note the recent announcement by the Minister of Planning to launch the Climate Pioneers program that will see 2000 trainees on climate issues.
According to Fathy , the program is one of the leading training programs on climate change . the graduates will qualify to participate at the 27th Conference of Parties to the UN Framework Conention on Climate Change set to be held in Egypt later in the year.
