Sweden has supported PACJA to the tune of 47.9 million SEK between 2017 to 2020 to implement the program “Deepening African Civil Society Engagement in International Post[1]Paris Climate Change Dialogue and Response Strategies in the Context of SDGs” .
The overarching objective of this intervention is “to share information, initiate joint strategic interventions, coordinate continental action and constructively engage governments, multilateral bodies and all relevant stakeholders to manage climate challenges in Africa”.
The main objectives of PACJA can be summarized as to: – a) Strengthen African CSOs and mobilize them around climate justice and equity b) influence policies at national, and climate dialogue processes at regional and international levels c) influence media to contribute to climate justice d) strengthen global climate justice movements and d) Institutional strengthening of PACJA member platforms.
