November 16, 2024On November 15th, in Baku, Azerbaijan, PACJA (Pan African Climate Justice Alliance) took significant strides in advocating for climate justice during a series of impactful engagements at COP29. These included strategic actions and discussions on key issues such as climate finance, energy access, adaptation strategies, and the integration of human rights in global climate initiatives.
From holding a bold demonstration inside the Blue Zone to emphasize Africa’s urgent need for substantial climate financing to participating in high-level side events with global stakeholders, PACJA’s presence amplified the voices of vulnerable communities impacted by climate crises. Key topics included addressing Africa’s debt crisis, financing adaptation efforts, advancing renewable energy solutions in fragile states, and fostering South-South cooperation for sustainable development.
