February 12, 2022According to Ahmed Fathy, this is the first event of its kind in the history of the book fair. He said a special pavilion has been established to discuss climate change, raise awareness of the risks Egyptian face and try to find solutions for them.
“I am pleased to announce our youth movement’s strong participation at this event to discuss many important issues around climate change whose impact is felt everywhere in Egypt and the world. I am also taking this opportunity to invite you to join us in Hall 3. B23 pavilion to learn more about the most important events related to climate change in Egypt and the world,” he said.
Most importantly, he said the Youth Pavilion, which has been supported by the PACJA, is being manned by the youth whose following at the event is overwhelming.
According to Dr Mithika Mwenda, the Executive Director, of the Pan African Climate Justice Alliance, the Youth Love Egypt Foundation is a valued member in the climate justice movement.
“Our focus in this year is to see that the youth, the farmers, the fisherfolk, policy makers, women among others are galvanised towards ensuring that Egypt hosts a COP to beat and emulate. COP27 is coming to Egypt. We must help our national platform build a movement for change in the country,” he said.
