June 2, 2021Today as it was: PACJA Team meets Tana River Governor
June 4, 2021The Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA) has consistently called for meaningful operationalization of the Warsaw Mechanism on loss and damage complete with a funding mechanism to address the needs of vulnerable communities that have been rendered hopeless by the losses and damages incurred through climate change.
According to Charles Mwangi, Thematic Lead on Resilient Communities and their Economies, PACJA, the parties want to see a consideration of WIM’s report in this conference and that this should not wait for COP 26.
On climate finance parties continued to stress the importance of meeting the financial goal to raise USD 100 Billion annually, as well as fostering efforts to ensure the provision of the other means of implementation related to capacity building and technology transfer.
Climate action should go hand in hand with climate finance to support implementation. PACJA joins the like-minded parties in calling for climate finance that is adequate, predictable and takes into consideration the balance between adaptation and mitigation.
