Salina to represent PACJA at the Women Defenders of Land and Territory event

The Pan African Climate Justice Alliance will participate at the Generation Equality Forum when Ms Salina Sanou will present African perspectives to the discussion that will take place.

Organised by The Generation Equality Forum, the event will be part of the celebrations to mark the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. 

The first moment took place in Mexico in March, and the event will culminate with the meeting in France at the end of June.  

To ensure that civil society organizations, collectives and feminist activists have a space for reflection, construction of demands and collective thinking parallel to the Generation Equality Forum, various organizations are convening the Thematic Workshops in the Framework of the 25th Anniversary of Beijing + 25. These conversations aim to collectively reflect on five fundamental aspects of the gender equality agenda: precarious work, care systems, comprehensive sexuality education, the political agenda of Afro-descendant women, and women defenders of land and territory.  

The event aims to create proposals to ensure climate justice in Latin America that emphasize the importance of involving the diversity of women in the process, as well as to share strategies to ensure the protection of women defenders of the environment, land and territory.
