April 25, 2022Ensuring a people-centred energy transition in Africa through civil society engagement project will strengthen the role of CSOs in promoting and implementing sustainable energy transition initiatives and renewable energy-related NDC commitments in five African countries, including Nigeria.
Supported by the German government through the International Climate Initiative (IKI), the project’s objective is to strengthen the CSOs with tools to engage in renewable energy policy development, programme implementation, monitoring and strengthen their voice at the local, continental and global levels.
The meeting also provided an occasion for the PACJA to take the partners through the African advocacy strategy towards the 27th Conference of Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate change (COP27) which aims to galvanise the African voices ahead of the COP set to hold in Egypt later in the year.
PACJA is engaging various sectors of the African peoples in bid to frame the messages around the various core issues pertinent for Africa and which the continent wishes to be at the centre of the COP27 discussions.
