August 14, 2024The first edition of The National Youth Forum on Climate Justice took place from August 10th to 11th, 2024, in Djibouti, the event was held as a prelude to International Youth Day. Centered on the theme “Youth and Climate Justice: How can young people contribute to a sustainable and positive social impact?”, the event provided a unique platform to foster constructive exchanges and catalyze collective youth action for climate justice in Djibouti.
The National Youth Forum on Climate Justice event was designed for all Djiboutian youth to unite in the fight against the climate crisis. This national forum offers an invaluable opportunity for young people across Djibouti to come together, share their knowledge and experiences, and collaboratively discuss solutions to the pressing challenges posed by climate change.
Organized by the Djibouti Youth Movement One and Indivisible, in partnership with the Pan-African Alliance for Climate Justice and Social Change Factory, the forum aimed to bring together youth organizations, movements, coalitions, and civil society actors. By focusing on diverse themes related to climate justice in Djibouti, this forum will serve as a vital space for dialogue, training, and the exchange of innovative, youth-led solutions. The youth at this event came up with a declaration attached below.
