November 18, 2024On November 16th, in Baku, Azerbaijan, PACJA (Pan African Climate Justice Alliance) continued its impactful engagement during COP29, with a series of high-level discussions and events aimed at addressing the climate challenges faced by Africa. Collaborating with the Africa Group of Negotiators (AGN) and other key stakeholders, PACJA emphasized the need for inclusive and community-driven approaches to climate adaptation, equitable finance, and leveraging digital platforms for climate justice.
From exploring needs-based adaptation strategies to advocating for reforms in climate finance systems, the discussions underscored Africa’s unique vulnerabilities and the urgent need for tailored solutions. Special attention was given to empowering local communities, addressing financial inequities, and ensuring that digital technologies are harnessed effectively to amplify voices and drive equitable climate action.
