Issued by Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in the Coastal Region of Kenya: 8-9 May 2025
Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Kenya’s Coastal region urge the urgent implementation of legal and institutional frameworks to strengthen the Financing Locally Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) program. These frameworks must ensure inclusive public participation, empower local and marginalized communities, and enforce full compliance with FLLoCA standards. Transparent and accountable climate governance, supported by multi-agency coordination and timely access to climate information, is essential. As the region faces increasing climate challenges, coordinated engagement and integration of climate priorities into development agendas will be key to building lasting resilience and ensuring that locally led solutions truly benefit grassroots communities.
