May 21, 2024The Pan-African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA), in collaboration with its partners, recently hosted a series of impactful side events at the 10th African Regional Forum for Sustainable Development (ARFSD-10) held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. These pre-events, which took place from April 17 to 22, focused on critical issues at the intersection of climate change and health, emphasizing the importance of integrating health considerations into climate policies to promote health equity across the continent.
A key highlight of the pre-events was a high-level session on Climate Change and Health, which explored strategies for centering health in climate policies. The discussions underscored the need to harness the power of TROIKA to effectively address Africa’s climate challenges. Another significant event focused on adopting an integrated approach to tracking climate finance across Africa, ensuring transparency and accountability in climate-related funding.
Additionally, PACJA and the African Coalition for Sustainable Energy and Access (ACSEA) officially launched the ambitious 630 Campaign. This campaign aims to address energy access in sub-Saharan Africa by mobilizing 630 billion USD to provide sustainable energy solutions to 630 million people by 2030. Read More: ARFSD NewsLetter
