Faced with a “disconnected” West, young Africans raise their voices

Hundreds of people from across Africa, people from Egypt, the host country, joined PACJA in the protest against Climate Injustice.
From Mahmoud Nagy Street, all the way to the blue zone where the conference is taking place, under the blazing sun, Youth, elders in chanted and shouted out slogans with key messages: Recognition of Africa as a region with special needs and Circumstances, Addressing loss and damages and climate financing.
The global march happened at moment key aspirations of African at this COP were disregarded and dropped off the agenda discussions. IT’S SAD.
In his remarks, full of emotions, full of truth, full of African solidarity, Dr. Mithika Mwenda, highlighted that is on Intensive care due to effects of climate change, results from problems which African did not cause.
Dr. Mithika called all Africans, CSOs from Global north and Media to join hands for change and alerted that Climate change will not show mercy to global north.
