Development of a briefing Paper to help parliamentarians on placement of climate change responses at the center of efforts to reconstruct economies post Covid-19.

In Africa, the effort to catalyse parliamentarians’ engagement in climate discourse processes has been driven by the Pan African Parliament and Pan African Climate justice Alliance, along other parliamentary networks such as EU/ACP-allied PAPNCC have spearheaded conversations. This started way back in 2009 ahead of the remarkable COP15 in Copenhagen, when the two organisations worked with the Kenya National Assembly to host the first, ever, Pan African Summit on Climate Change. The Summit laid a foundation for continuous engagement, which culminated in the 2nd Parliamentary Summit on Climate Policy ahead of COP21 in Paris, which was concrete in outcomes than 2009.
