The Pan African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA) actively participated in the 11th Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (ARFSD-11), held from April 6–11, 2025, in Kampala, Uganda. Under the theme “Driving job creation and economic growth through sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions,” PACJA convened a series of high-impact engagements amplifying African voices and priorities on climate justice.
Key highlights included the launch of the 5th Cohort of the Nairobi Summer School on Climate Justice, the Africa Climate Talks and SDGs Forum, and expert-led sessions tackling urgent themes such as climate finance, youth empowerment, geopolitical dynamics, and Africa’s critical minerals.
PACJA leveraged its convening power to center African agency in climate diplomacy, advocate for a shift toward regenerative and reparative economic models, and demand justice in climate financing. Notable interventions from African Union, UNECA, AfDB, and regional youth emphasized inclusive approaches and accountability, placing frontline communities, women, and youth at the heart of climate action.
Through strategic partnerships and bold thought leadership, PACJA reaffirmed its role as a key driver of Africa’s climate justice movement, committed to shaping equitable pathways to sustainable development aligned with Agenda 2063 and the 2030 Agenda.
