Africa NSA Statement

As the world navigates an increasingly multipolar order, African non-state actors (NSAs) are taking a bold stance in the fight for climate justice. The NSA Statement, developed during a consultative review in Addis Ababa on February 12, 2025, is a resolute call for radical climate action, reparations, and systemic reform.

Against a backdrop of geopolitical shifts, escalating climate impacts, and inadequate financial commitments, this statement articulates Africa’s urgent demands—debt relief, climate finance justice, and equitable access to global resources. It underscores Africa’s refusal to remain a passive observer, instead asserting its leadership in shaping sustainable and inclusive development pathways.

Addressing governments, intergovernmental bodies, and global institutions, the statement highlights the necessity of unity, accountability, and transformative action. As the road to COP30 in Belém unfolds, this declaration serves as a rallying call for African-led solutions that prioritize people over profit.
