PROJET D’APPUI AUX OSC POUR AMELIORER LEUR PARTICIPATION DANS LES POLITIQUES ET PROGRAMMES DE MISE EN ŒUVRE DU PROCESSUS REDD+ AU GABON

Le Gabon, au titre de sa contribution à l’effort mondial, s’est engagé à réduire de 50% ses émissions de GES d’ici 2025 par rapport à l’année 2005. le Gabon entend également s’appuyer sur le secteur UTCF, notamment sur la gestion forestière durable et le développement du secteur agricole pour réduire le chômage endémique de sa jeunesse, réduire sa forte dépendance alimentaire vis-à-vis de l’extérieur, diversifier son économie et poursuivre son développement.

Enhancing Policy Change on Climate Change and Natural Resource Management project

This project seeks to address the gaps in the existing climate related policies at the national and county. The project will advocate for the Ecosystem Based Approaches to be used as the overall approach in national and county level policies and plans. The key policies that will be targeted in the policy advocacy are agriculture, the National Adaptation plan, Energy and water polices. The project will target key policy makers at national and county level to achieve its policy advocacy agenda. The policy/decision makers that will be targeted are Directors, Cabinet Ministries and legislators.  Women groups, Natural Resource Management groups, and Community Management Disaster Risk Reduction groups, Charcoal Production Association groups at the national and county level will also key in the PACJA’s advocacy process.  

Project Outcomes

  1. National government authorities take action to develop, adopt or operationalize laws, policies and budgeted strategies that support the protection and sustainable management of natural resources through ecosystem-based adaptation in an equitable manner
  2. County Government authorities take action to develop, adopt or operationalize laws, policies and budgeted strategies that support the protection and sustainable management of natural resources through ecosystem-based adaptation in an equitable manner.
